WooCommerce Members Only Demo

This is a demo site to showcase some of the WooCommerce Members Only plugin’s features.

  • Log in to access the site with different membership levels, Guest, Silver, Gold. Each level will give you access to different content on the site. If you don’t log in, you can browse the site as a guest but much of the content will be hidden
  • This is a WooCommerce site but it also contains post, page and custom post type content. Content is available to different user roles so click around to see what you can access and what you can’t
  • If you try to access restricted content, you’ll be directed to a log-in page. The plugin allows you to specify different log-in pages depending on which type of content you’re attempting to view

Membership levels and content

With Members Only, you can restrict all content types including products, pages, posts, custom post types, categories and taxonomies. On this test site, you can access different content depending on your membership level:

Log in here to try it out or check out what content you can view below.

Guests (not logged in)

Guest users are restricted from accessing the following content:

  • Products in the ‘Hoodies’ and ‘Tshirts’ categories
  • Blog posts in the ‘Exclusive’ category
  • Courses in the ‘Silver’ and ‘Gold’ categories

This site is set to allow users to see restricted content – e.g. users can see products and posts – but they can’t access them. So users will see a message about restricted content in place of any blog post content – and they’ll see products listed but will be unable to purchase them or access the product pages.

If you prefer, you can hide restricted content completely.

Silver

Users with the ‘Silver’ user role can access the following content that is unavailable to guest users:

  • Hoodies (product category)
  • Blog posts in the ‘Exclusive’ category
  • Courses in the ‘Silver’ categories

Gold

Users with the ‘Gold’ user role can access all content.

Types of protection?

This demo site restricts content from users based on their role but you can choose other restriction methods for your site if you wish. Members Only allows you to protect your content in three different ways:

  • Password: users require a password to access content. You can create multiple passwords to access the same content; you can also protect different content with different passwords.
  • User role: users require a certain user role to access content. You can create different membership levels so that different content can be accessed by different user roles
  • Guest/member: users who are not logged in will be unable to see certain content; users who are logged in will have full access

This demo site uses the ‘user role’ method.
